Sightings, Bird and Human, 2014

In July of 2013, I noticed the Bird Sightings column in the Boston Globe. The names of the birds and the number of them listed in one sentence were very funny. I wondered what the birds think of us watching them, and of what the birds might see when they watch us. I printed words from the real and imagined columns on fabric and that formed the backgrounds. I collaged the images and layered tulle over everything before quilting.
